ABOUT AMERICAN FAMILY KARATE
Guiding Principles of American Family Karate

The Family that KICKS together STICKS together at American Family Karate!

Originally opened in January 2001 as Alamo Family Karate in San Antonio, TX, American Family Karate moved to Elmira, NY in September of 2007.

We empower students to achieve their fullest personal potential by engaging in traditional, reality-based, martial arts training that instills the character tenets for our AFK Students: Respect, Integrity, Self-Control, Confident, Leadership, Perseverance, Courtesy, and Indomitable Spirit.

We work to instill the love of life-long learning.

Our martial arts curriculum places an emphasis on: self-defense, cardiovascular fitness & strength training, kata & sparring.

Whether your goal is fitness, self-defense, tournament fighting or confidence, Martial Arts can fill your needs. No other activity can give you the complete physical and mental training that Martial Arts teaches. You are never too old to start.

We are committed to providing uplifting martial arts instruction to families and individuals who want a challenge and a change.

We provide the ultimate family activity!

Our motto is: “Earned Not Given,” and our students are hardworking martial artists.

American Family Karate Tournament team for October 17, 2105We recognize that the Lord is responsible for all our gifts, talents and all that we have. Therefore, our teaching is done as if each student were our own family. We are not a militaristic style karate school and parents and students find our relaxed, yet structured, atmosphere refreshing.

Whether your goal is fitness, self-defense, tournament fighting or confidence, Martial Arts can fill your needs. No other activity can give you the complete physical and mental training that Martial Arts teaches. You are never too old to start.
